Visitor or Temporary Resident Visa
The Visitor Visa, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa, is for those who cannot apply for the eTA. It is used for tourism, business, or visiting family and friends.
This is the most common type of visa. It allows you to stay in Canada for up to 6 months and also do an exchange program during this period.
The tourist visa costs 100 Canadian dollars.
Student Visa
If you plan to study in Canada for more than 6 months, you must apply for a student visa. The student visa can be in the S-1 or SW-1 category. The latter, “Student Worker,” allows the student to work in the country in addition to studying.
This type of visa is for those who will participate in a study program that includes a work period.
